Laws regarding firearms

Was thinking about this while shopping this morning. Many of the Stop & Shops have branches of People's Bank in them, with nothing separating the counter from the main exit aisle. The store doesn't prevent you from entering with a firearm. But if you walk in close proximity to the bank counter while carrying, is this a federal crime in the same way you can't walk into a bank with a gun?

Where did you get the impression that you cannot walk into a bank with a gun?

I guess I incorrectly assumed banks were covered by Federal law since robbing one is a Federal offense because of the presence of the FDIC. I'm guessing I'm not alone in this assumption.

FWIW...
https://www.fdic.gov/edie/fdic_info.html
The FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) is an independent agency of the United States government that protects you against the loss of your deposits if an FDIC-insured bank or savings association fails. FDIC insurance is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government. Since the FDIC's creation in 1933, no depositor has ever lost even one penny of FDIC-insured deposits.

Considering the amount of people on a daily basis that carry openly into banks in both this state and across the country, I have no idea why people would still have this idea.

Sounds like more gun store lore...

You and I apparently live in different states named Connecticut. Granted I'm only 54 years old, but in my entire life I have never seen a non-LEO walk into any branch of any bank openly carrying a weapon. That goes for every state in which I have visited...and that makes 49 to date.

Frankly, that sounds like CCDL lore to me.

I have never seen two men have sex either. I am pretty sure that doesn't mean it doesn't happen every day.

Considering my signature, that is funny.

Hey... come on!
Your dollar has always been equal to 100 pennies!

Long live the Federal Reserve! (Not!)

BTW, I need one of those circular Obama decals, so I can place a similar sized "N" to the left of it!

Of course, it would help if my signature was turned on I suppose.

And like my example, a quick google search will turn up plenty of examples:
