With all the hype I went out and purchased a few 'extra' rifles I assume just like everyone else. I recently picked up a Yugo SKS and refinished the furniture, cleaned it up and loved doing in.

Looking for suggestions on what rifles anyone can recommend to a new guy just get getting into collecting and refinishing rifles that will not break the bank ($500 +\- range) that I can learn on. Never did any bluing yet but looking into it. No were near knowledgeable for a gunsmith but again seriously looking to learn and do some weekend projects.

Gentlemen, 'learn me a few things' and feel free to pick on the 'freshman' :?:

I second that, plenty of them out there. Fun to shoot when you are done. My first re-finish was an old 22 rifle with no real value before or after re-finishing.

If you dig deep in the gallery you can find a few pics.

Good luck.
