Some of the Headlines today,

The Blaze, and they are on our side!
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/01 ... c-hearing/

Local paper,
http://www.countytimes.com/articles/201 ... 815997.txt

Many progressive / socialist / fascist / communist thinkers have written about waiting for emotions to take over, focus on what happens and distort the message to their gain. That's what's happened. Our loss.

If this comment is correct I think this is a media ploy to make 2a supporters look bad :

There was no Heckling that took place. In the video the man made a statement saying can 1 person in this room tell him why people need to have an assault style weapon & the people in the room answered him it’s there 2nd Amendment right.

I am reserving judgment until some one here that was in attendance can comment.

...and this is why I knew I couldn't be there. I would have likely lost my cool.

Still, it's appalling that the only take-away they seem to have from all that went on yesterday is an out-of-turn shout about the Second Amendment.

I agree, a question was asked, and answered, no heckling

From the comments:

I have 5 children and can not imagine the pain these parents are going through. That being said, once you become an activist, you can no longer hide behind the grieving parent shield. If this man is going to publicly speak out in the expectation of affecting what is my right, I would have no reservation about challenging him publicly. Ann Coulter wrote a whole book about liberals trotting out victims to advocate for some liberal policy without being challenged. It’s pathetic and wrong to use these grieving people for a political purpose. There are too close to situation to be able to have any credibility.

So while my heart breaks for him for losing his child, I have NO pity for him for being heckled for trying to strip away a right that he doesn’t agree with.

I saw it last night well into my 16th hour at the Capitol. My sense of humor was way low at that point.

I EVISCERATED her in a private message. I was less than respectful. Returning the favor of her lack of respect.

What I remember of his testimony was that his wife was going to do the speaking during their time to speak but she couldn't be there. He, claiming that he had dyslexia, opted to have the head grief counselor for Sandy Hook read the wife's testimony, and she did so somewhat. The father said nothing other than this during the testimony, nor did I hear any heckling during their time. It was brief and one of the few that ran under the three minute time limit.
This is a time when all the world, yes the world, as the BBC is reporting on the entire events happening here in CT, as are other world news organizations. So we as responsible gun owners, and we all claim that we are, must behave respectably in situations like this. No matter how wrong, misinformed, slandering or utterly false or disagreeable with your views that the oppositions opinions and statements are, the world is looking for one idiot to form their own opinion. This is serious, and one dumbass screaming out, and those around him/her cheering makes us all look like a bunch of redneck, stupid, uncaring, gun nut freaks who want nothing more than to kill their children and then stick a gun in the survivors hands. Be smart and think of more than your fifteen seconds of fame riling up the crowd around you and on the tv.
As I watched the hearing from inside and at home I noticed the coolness of those testifying on both viewpoints, and I could see exactly who was coached in their testimony and those who spoke from the heart, but those who stood out the most were those on both sides who failed to prepare. Those who didn't bother to run their testimony by anyone beforehand. And I can tell you that most of those people's testimonies were a train wreck. There's no worse testimony than that of a person who is inspired by anger, yet fueled by ignorance. I appreciate the time invested, I just wish that some of these people had run their testimony by the people at CCDL first. It would have made for a much more beneficial asset to our side.
Cooler heads prevail! If you must be angry, make sure that you are educated first, or at least sound like it! Because the world attaches their negative viewpoints to a person who acts like they should be on Jerry Springer faster than they do to a person who they would want to lead them.
Just my two cents.

I was there and that is what happened. He asked and a few in the crowd answered.

It would be nice if more of us would do the same. He is Scott Baker, and his email is [email protected]

I am very disappointed by the degree to which the journalistic integrity of the Republican-American has slipped. I will be reconsidering my subscription.
I agree. I have seen their local reporter dig to try and find dirt on a local organization, a complete turn around from 12 years ago.

The lame stream media has been off my Christmas list for a long time. :x

Y'know, with some of it, I was willing to dismiss as, "Well, times are tough and they're more willing to rely on wire service stories or other secondary sources."

THIS story was written by Paul Hughes, one of their staff writers.
