I meant just in case we have another shortage, like in 2008, not just in case the Schumer hits the fan. I was kinda caught with my pants done in 2008... I had a decent stockpile of ammo, and I figured "hey, if I need more I can still get reloading components, I'll just go buy another lb of powder and a box of primers and reload my own". Never expected there to be a shortage there too. Nothing like having a press and no powder or primers. Never gonna happen again.

For pure economy, you won't want to hear this, but cast bullets with 6-8 grains of Red Dot or Trail Boss (see Hodgdon website for Trail Boss loads in rifle).
+1. I was shooting these with John the other day. Really cheap when you price it out, and a pound of Red dot will go a long way. Very easy on the shoulder (and ears!!!) too.
