Regrettably, I was had by the Sandy Hook frenzy and scooped up an AR lower a few weeks ago when I found it at a good price. It's polymer. If it gets legislatively turned into gold I"ll probably just sell it but if common sense prevails and we are left alone I'll be building another evil rifle. Is there anything different I should know about using a polymer lower? Advantages, disadvantages?

From what I understand, there really are no advantages or disadvantages to a polymer lower. Since they really don't take any sort of force, they do the job just as well. I have a STAG metal lower and 3 of the polymer lowers. You should be fine if you end up building it for yourself. Hope that helps:)

As far as I know, most polymer lowers are rated for up to 5.56mm, they are not a true multi cal receiver. pistol calibers would be fine but you can't go higher than 5.56.
