Well I picked up a M1 Garand 7.62 x 51 barreled receiver.

Springfield Armory - 1943

Barrel is unused and from May 1965.

Three bolts failed the Field check on the gauges but I was able to get a new bolt that works fine. Top one.

I have two sets on National Match sights and one regular sight that I can use.

I had a gas cylinder with the front site but it was worn so I opted to track down some new old stock parts.

Now surfing the net to find the remaining parts. I am in no rush so I will take my time and get the best parts for this.

I will be interested in pictures when it is done. I enjoy projects, just have not had the time to do any lately.

I'm going to start saving my money, which one will you sell first? Or will you sell me that AR10??

The Fal refinished by the "Good Folks at Oxford Armory" will be the first to go.

I have a HRA 30-06 that had a SA trigger group installed. I kept it like that due to the cost of the HRA trigger group. I finally found a HRA one, cost me a small fortune but now I have this sweet trigger for the 308.

Operating rod is in excellent condition a bit pricey though.

It mics out perfect.

There are few sites that sell new old stock garand parts and after a few weeks searching I found most of the pieces. The white plastic part prevents you loading 30-06 rounds into the rifle.

The latch clip was described as very good but the pictures on the auction were not clear. I'm not happy with this and have a new old stock one on the way.

Looks like it is starting to come together. Should be a nice build.
