I have been helping my sister for a year or so with my 10/22, and Sunday she shot my 7mm08, Remington Model 7. She did great, but for some reason could ot get her check down on the stock, and had trouble aligning with the scope. Any ideas? Maybe her heavy jacket? She wants to hunt deer next year with me, and needs to get comfortable with this rifle.
Thanks in advance.

What is her dominant eye? Is she right handed or left handed?

Most of the time this is true. But a good friend of mine is right handed but left eye dominant. Makes it a PITA for him to shoot rifles left handed.

2 things come to mind, first is the stock is too long, or there is to much drop in the comb to get a good cheek weld.

Once you add in extra clothing layers, stock length can be an issue.

I am right handed and left eye dominant.
The only time I think it is a handicap is shooting Shotguns (Which I do ALL the time) so no big deal here.

Sights are used on my handguns and rifles.
Except the ones that are scoped.
