I've been looking to get a M4A3 for a little while now but im having trouble finding one. Im from Norwalk, but i hate the shop here (Forest & Field) so i made my way up to Cabels's to see what they had but they didnt have anything their. So, i didnt know where else i would be able to find one so i ended up going back to Norwalk's Forest and Field. This place is the WORST! They are VERY expensive and the people that work their are A-holes (sorry, theres no other way to put it). But anyway, i talked to them their and they told me about, what they call, a Bushmaster M4A3 Custom D. They said they didnt have any in stock i could look at, but if i wanted to buy it they could have it here in about a week. So i go ahead and buy it and give them 2 weeks before i call to see where it is. The guy their gives me an attitude and says they take time, it will be here soon and they will call me when it's their. So then i wait another 2 weeks, its now been a month and still i get the same answer. Another 2 weeks go by (now on week 6), so this time i dont call i go their in person. He still gives me an attitude but makes a call this time and at least gives me an update. He says they are waitting on the barrel, should be another few days. So i go home and let another 2 weeks pass (its now been 2 months on a gun they told me would take a week) and im looking online and decide to google "Bushmaster custom d". And the second link down i find this:
http://www.gunsamerica.com/932104145/Gu ... A3_223.htm
Thats the same exact gun, Bushmaster M4A3 Custom D, being sold from the same exact store, Forest and Field, for $1,099 a year ago. So i go back to Forest and Field and ask the guy if the gun has showed up yet. He gets all mad and says "if i didnt call you its not here." I ask if he knows whats going on and he said "i know as much as you do." so i tell him i they were selling this gun at gunsamerica.com for 300 less then i bought it and asked if i could get some kind of compensation for waitting over 2 months on something that was suppost to take a week. He gets all upset and says online they have to pay transfer fees and stuff and it comes out to the same price and there is nothing he could do but give me a refund which i took right away. So now i need to know...

Where can i buy a Bushmaster M4A3 in Connecticut, and this time where can i look at them first and not have to order it???

Thanks for the help, sorry i wrote so much...

All the "black rifle" crowd will chime in soon enough, but for starters, make a run up to Newington and try Newington Gun Exchange, Hoffman's and BMG http://bmgguns.com/ (not necessarily in that order).
Also look into JoJos Gunworks (http://www.jojosgunworks.com/) in Southington and perhaps the new shop in Meriden (Delta Arsenal at 82 Camp Street).
All five shops in fairly close proximity.

I suppose you could inquire at K-5 and Connecticut Gun Exchange (Monroe), too.

Affirmative on the Monroe shops...
I can't vouch for gun purchasing at CGE, but they do carry more mil-surps and militaria than the shooting range on Rt 25 and North Atlantic Sportsman Inc., further north on Rt 25 (600 Main Street; rear of Bart Center). The latter caters more to the shotgun crowd, I think, although he has handguns, rifles and reloading components (to a degree).

If I were you, I would look at this as a blessing in disguise and an opportunity to do some research before you buy. This site: http://www.m4carbine.net/forum.php has a ton of good info, including but not limited to this compilation of some very good threads: http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=7355

EDIT: Hoffman's usually has a decent, if not really big, selection of ARs on the back wall too, if you want to go look at a few in person. I've always had a good experience with them, although others have reported not.

I know the rsponse is a little late but

Delta Arsenal in Meriden is your best. These guys can help you build
anything you want. I have purchased a couple of frearms in the past before the store was in place but these guys can do just about anything you want. Customize an ar any way you like it even choice of differrent colors. good luck
