I'm in the process of building an AR. I know I will be installing a 16" CT legal barrel, but I am not sure about the twist rate.
I know the 1:7 is better for stabilizing the heavier 62 grain bullets, but how will it work for 55 grain bullets? I have a good supply of both 55 grain and 62 grain ammo. Would the 1:7 work well, or should I stick with a 1:9?

Thanks

if you plan on shooting the 55/62 range, go 1/9, it's a good compromise,
1/7 is better with 62/68 or heavier, not as good with the lighter bullets.

They also make a 1/8 twist barrel.

I am in the market for a barrel to use for an sbr project if you have anything you want to part with.

Thanks for the help. I think I will go with a 1/9.
I don't think I have anything that can help you out with your SBR project, but if I come across anything I will let you know.

Thanks again.
