Hello all, I am a newbie from Norwalk but I've been lurking for a while. I submitted my CCW application on 5.13 with the local PD. I am a little confused as to what happens from here. I know I get a temp permit from the local PD. When I applied I gave 2 money orders (one to the City of Norwalk for $19.25 and one to the DPS for $35) My question is: Once I get the temp permit what exactly do I bring to the State PD barracks with me? Do I need another money order? Should I bring my Passport?

Bring your Temp permit, another form of ID and a check, they WILL NOT TAKE CASH!!

So that $35 money order I gave to norwalk payable to DPS doesn't cover it?

Nope. You gotta pay them a second time when you go to get your permit.

I got asked for ID AND my birth certificate at DPS.

Might be a good thing to bring, so you don't have to make a second trip.

You are required to provide proof of US citizenship, even when doing a renewal.

A birth certificate, among other things like a US passport or voter registration card, satisfies this requirement.

A drivers license *is not* proof of citizenship.
