I will solve it by using a regular OEM 18 pound spring.
My wife will have to shoot something else like .22, affordable too.
But thanks a lot for your replies. :D
There is a nice SIG P220 .22 at Jo-Jo's @ $499. Its full size and would be a great trainer for your wife......don't forget the coupon it comes with for a .45 conversion, making it two for one

[quote="nyalex98"]I had to use a lighter recoil spring so my wife could shoot it too. I guess better get a .380 for her if i can find ammo for it.

I think I need to talk to your wife and give her some exercises, so that she's not stuck shooting only a .22 for the rest of her life. I really don't like when people pull the "oh, she's a woman, so give her the .22, 'cuz that's all she can really handle". :x

nyalex dont listen to them ( girsl gun rights activist) just keep your wife stuck in .22 caliber its a good idea, if one day she decide to shoot you , you have a better survival probability, keep in mind they are naturally a better shooter than us so dont take chance.

Israeli Mossad .22 LRS

Written by Nick Jacobellis. Author Archive »

Beretta Model 70 and 71—speciaL purpose favorites of the Israeli Mossad and sky marshals.

beretta.jpg

An enemy of Israel believes that he has successfully slipped away from the Mossad after his heinous act of terrorism. It’s a beautiful evening and time for a stroll. As the terrorist steps out of his apartment his chest is peppered with a handful of .22 Long Rifle bullets that immediately end his terrorist career. The only thing that the local police find is a dead terrorist and a small pile of .22 LR brass casings sprinkled close to the deceased.

The Beretta Model 70 and the functionally identical Model 71, both in .22 LR, have served with great distinction as the signature terminator pistol of the Mossad, the premiere intelligence agency of the State of Israel. The Beretta 70 was also carried by Israeli Sky Marshals.

The Beretta Model 70 and 71 are compact single-action .22-caliber semi-automatic pistols that accommodate an eight-round magazine, weigh 17 ounces with an unloaded magazine and have a 3.5-inch barrel. The Beretta Model 71 and the 70 are basically identical in every respect except that the Beretta Model 70s come equipped with a low-profile, adjustable rear sight. One feature that appears on both models is either a thumb safety or a cross bolt safety. These pistols also have the magazine release on the left side of the grip, near the bottom of the frame. According to a reliable source in Israel, the .22-caliber Beretta 70 was taken out of service in the mid 1970s and was replaced by a 9mm Beretta.

Hmmm...that is a beauty!
My wife would love that I'll bet!

I'd always thought the Ruger target front sight
would make an excellent cutting device in hand-to-hand combat, but stepping back and having eight rounds would be much nicer.

Cool.. I spent 6 years as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. One of my deployments was an all expenses paid trip to the Sinai Peninsula for 6 months as part of a Multi National Peacekeeping Force. I had the opportunity to visit Jerusalem for 4 days of R&R. I was in awe of the multitude of persons carrying all types of weapons, m16's SKS, AK 47'S and of course the ever present UZI. The visual that really stays in my mind, is the young school age children on a field trip to the OLD CITY, being escorted by armed teachers, carrying UZI'S. I found the people to be friendly and enthusiastic. Someday I'll go back and visit, or maybe stay and be part of the National Defense, as all Israeli citizens are part of the Reserve. Nice photos! Thanks for the memories.
