What do you think of Para Ordinance?

So I've been looking around for a Glock 36 and am being shown a lot of other similars in gun shops. A new store showed me a Para Elite Carry and I can't get it off my mind. Very nice gun, but pricy too. All my .45's are plastic guns. Getting a 1911 variation would be different. I liked the heft of the metal gun.
On the Internet are discussions that make Paras sound bad, but most of those are old threads from several years ago.
This gun is sweet: coco bolo grips, match grade barrel, amazing trigger (dry fired).
Anyone out the familiar with Para Arms in its current incarnation?
I'd welcome any input. Thanks.

Hey holepuncher, if it's on your mind that much then get it , I never herd anything bad they look really nice and if it feels good in your hand than that's half the battle , I recently picked up a kimber solo all I herd about it was how crappy of a gun it is then I started looking deeper in to the gun , come to find out the kimber likes to be fed 124 or heavier grain bullet (and is stated on almost every page in the owners manual) all the complaints were from people that insisted on feeding 115 gr through them the rest bitched about the cost if they don't want to spend the cash then don't but don't get down on the ones that do , so take the reviews with a grain of salt and go with your gut feeling ! Good luck with your decision I'm sure you won't be disappointed

I owned a Para S16-40 Limited. NOT the Todd Jarrett Edition. I loved how it felt...when it shot. I had a lot of FTF's and sent it back to Para. They replaced the extractor and polished the feed ramp. I still had FTF's and ended up trading it in. I guess 1911's should really only be in .45. I tried a lot of different ammo but nothing seemed to work. I shot IPSC acouple of times when I was stationed in Hawaii and even acouple of the IPSC vets I shot with had the same problem when trying my gun so, I know im not limp wristing the gun.
I agree with Hddreamer, if its on your mind that much just get it. Ive contemplated many guns and ended up just getting them. Even after all the bad reviews I read about them they still ended up working perfectly fine for me. It may have been just that gun. I don't mean to talk bad about Para or really any other manufacturer. I like how they look and fell. Like I said, it may be just that one gun.
