Anyone a Ford Tech?

Postby denick » Sat Jun 28, 2014 11:09 am

I bought a 2003 Expedition. I drove it 60 miles before I bought it and everything was fine.

I got it home and it sat 4 days in the driveway there was a day of heavy rain. I got it registered and took it for a drive. It stalled in the driveway 2 minutes after starting. It stalled 2 miles down the road. it went 20 miles no problem. In the last 2 weeks and 300 miles it's stalled 18 times.

By stall, I mean the engine stops running. There is no advance notice. There are no dash lights or codes. There's no stutter, jerking, starving for fuel. There is nothing to tell you it's going to happen.

It has happened in every conceivable condition. Cold, hot, idling, under load, coasting, after coming to a stop. I have put 300 miles on it just trying to get it to happen.

No, there are no codes showing up when tested.

There seems to be quite a few problems with Ford truck electrical / fuel systems.

Anyone have an idea? Recommend a shop that has a real whiz at diagnostic's?

Check out what these guys have to say, Nick.
Seems to be a common issue and Google had a ton of hits on your issue.
