DIY Water Filter

Postby Mike_Diako » Wed Apr 24, 2013 8:21 pm

I picked up a Super Sterysil ceramic filter off of Amazon a few weeks ago and finally had a chance to make a housing for it. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

Here's all the parts laid out. Keep in mind, I have already epoxied the filter to the end cap.

Standard 2" PVC clean out adaptor. I used two. I attached the filter permanently to one with epoxy. The ends are drilled out and can accommodate a standard garden hose

Here you can see the filter mounted in the 2" PVC.

Assembled and ready to go. All I need to do now is make a double ended adaptor so I can hook the inlet end to a standard configuration hose. It's backwards in this case.

Total investment was less than $30 since I already had the pipe at home.

Here's a link the filter on Amazon.
