When it comes to civil unrest or a natural disaster that causes a break down of civilized society. What is a defendable position. Here in Litchfield County the majority of buildings are wood frame 2 story buildings whether they are residential or commercial. A few determined bad guys can easily over come any of these. Schools and churches are the only masonry buildings.

A snowy winter night with no work tomorrow and this pops into my head.

Any place that you can hunker down without bringing attention to yourself or your family. Having some friends with you to take shifts in keeping look out wouldn't be a bad idea.
