This is a great venue and event. It's rain or shine, but I hope the weather is accomodating for you all.
Where else will you have range use (rifle, pistol, archery), a fishing pond and trap (with a modest fee for clays) for all day and ayce food, too? Good chance to meet some of the forum members, unless you're too shy to introduce yourself!
Enjoy!

I got there early this morning and saw several nice trout being extracted from the pond. Plenty of room on the range at but the smell of food wafting in the air made me pack up my range back at 11:30 and head down. I figured I would have seen JohnB and Mike-Sid in line for food but didn't see them.

Nice weather for the day and a nice crowd.

My father has been a member for 20+ years, but I tend to steer clear of the place. I'll occationally go with him to fish in the bathtub sized pond, but that's about it. The facility is decent, but the members keep me away. I've seen way too much shady stuff go on there. Call a spade a spade and re-name the place Meriden Fish & Drinking Club.

I would have went if I wasn't seriously hungover from my sister's wedding. Gun fire would have totally made my head throb worse lol

Seeing people from a particular MC did it for me.

Not saying that they're bad people, but I kind of am. I'm not leaving $1000+ worth of guns with my signature attached to it near a group of criminals.

I am not a member of the club but I have attended several functions down there without issue. I have not heard of or seen any reports of thefts or any other criminal acts in newspapers concerning the club or its members.

I do know the club has a social side for some members and that is within the rules of the club. Now show me a club in CT that has bar or where the members are allowed to drink and there will always be a few that may tarnish the image of the club. Judging the club by the actions of a few is folly.

The club has actively raising funds for St. Judes for over 10 years, they organize fishing events for children and other social activities for the people of Meriden and the surrounding towns.

Hayes, I'm not saying that the club is at fault for anything.

I cannot be associated with MC members in any way, shape, or form; even by proximity. If they are there, I cannot be there.

Biker = A-OK.

Biker wearing vest with rocker = NOT A-OK.

All I know is that these two annual events are usually a must attend affair.
Politics and gang rivalries aside, I enjoy the use of the facilities for a good day of shooting bullets and bull. The food is plentiful and satisfying, too.
Sorry that I couldn't make it this past weekend.
