Are there any military members that belong to any gun clubs near Groton? I kind of hate to ask but, are there any gun clubs that are military friendly? I deploy alot and am stationed at the Subase. I was looking around to join a club to give me some place closer to shoot at, rather than driving all the way to Hoffmans every weekend but, looking at prices and everything else and how much I would be able to shoot Im kind of thinking its ok to make that drive. Not to mention I can only shoot my handguns there. I dont think the community service would be a thing cause I would love to help out during matches, as long as my wife ok's it, haha. Anyways, I would probably be able to get alot of people on Subase, if theyre not already part of a club to join. Thanks.

Can't say with any certainty, but the Groton Sportsmans Club (Al Harvey Road....south of Rt 184) is just a bit further away than the Ledyard club (above post, which is a jog off of Colonel Ledyard Hwy). I do know one former CTARNG member that is a member at GSC; I'm sure there are other veterans in membership, too.

Same goes for Quaker Hill R&G over on 261 Oxoboxo Dam Road, in Oakdale (just west of Mohegan Sun area). http://quakerhillrodandgunclub.org/
Ditto: Mystic Rod & Gun Club

J, the Quaker Hill place is pretty cool. I was looking into joining that one. I went and shot up there with a retired CDR and I liked the ranges they had to offer. I'm pretty sure they were quite military friendly. I emailed someone at the Mystic Rod and Gun CLub a couple months back with some questions, but no one ever got back. I'll probably send another one as soon as the snow starts clearing up.

Hayes, that would be great, I actually mapquest'd Ledyard Sportsmen Club and they are closer than the Groton and Mystic Gun clubs. They're all pretty close, within 15 minutes. Any contact or any other info. would be great. Thanks guys.
