Just got a sale ad from SG ammo for 124gr FMJ and wanted to see what 9mm shooters think.

I have always shot 115gr FMJ in my 9mm handguns mainly because it was readily available and good enough for practice.

I would like to get some opinions on which you prefer.

Thanks

I shoot mostly 125 gr in 9mm, my guns shoot it well, I cast it so I have tons, and it makes power factor easy enough

Ok, that sounds like a yea for the 124gr. I am sure I tried 124 and 147gr years ago but just kept to the 115gr.

Thanks John.

the difference between 10 grains is really not much, I never got into the 147 gr, more bullet weight means more recoil and more wear on the gun.
Neither me or the gun need more wear.

I must be de-sensitized...do you really feel the 9 grains difference?
Unless shooting a full-magnum load versus a light load, I can't tell much difference between a 135 gr and a 158 grain .357 Magnum, same goes with a 200 gr vs. a 230 grainer .45 ACP.
I've reloaded a slew of Hornady 124gr FMJFP and Speer 125gr TMJFP in 9x19. Funny, I don't even own a niner!
