After the new year, I'd like to get my blue card again. I had it in my 20s but let it expire. If there's no one on this board who can teach it at, can someone recommend someone who's decent. The cheaper the better... hence, I need a job. Thanks!

I did mine at Bridgeport shooting range. That was a few years ago though and haven't been able to find a job doing armed security since.

Yeah, I was going to add "for what good it'll do me". Its HARD to get a job on this side of CT. My wife got me an interview but she couldnt get me the job. Besides, that, Ive had 2 interviews in two years, applying for jobs 2-3 times a week, via internet and in person. its TOUGH out there. 9% unemployment? My eye! Try 20%. All the jobs available are crappy high turnover rate jobs with high stress and too much responsibility attached to low pay. Or of course, theres a gagillion minimum wage PART time jobs with no benefits also. Im not quite there yet though.

PGS hires at the 103rd mobility AirWing @ Bradley. Did 4 Years with them as a Floater. Smith Wesson is Hiring 3rd shift. Rob Virtiglio@Wolfe's does Blue Card, as well as Ken Wilkinson in Niantic. I worked full-time for Colt Firearms/ Security Division for 2 years, kind of have an in, when they do hire. C&D IS HIRING :!: They have high standards and are very strict with Firearms Qualification, mostly do Federal Contract work..i.e. SSA,FBI and other Federal Buildings. Good place to look is Job Central and Indeed .com

Thanks for the Heads up Mag. Now to get the blue card. How long does it take to get once trained? Anyone remember? Any additional costs besides the class? Thanks

Now would be a good time to get your blue card guys, I have a feeling you'll see a lot of openings at schools for armed guards.
