A number of bills of interest to gun owners and sportsmen have been introduced and are currently pending consideration.
Oppose the items below
HB 5820 would require the registration of all firearms.
Notice HB 5800 would require the registration of all firearms. Registrations would have to be renewed every 5 years if this bill becomes law. You may also be charged for each registration.
Senate Bill 42 would require gun safety standards for shooting ranges. You can bet that this would give the state government power to arbitrarily shut down any and all shooting ranges in Connecticut if passed. Kiss your shooting ranges goodbye if you stand by and do nothing.
H B 6416 will create a redundant requirement on firearm show promoters by forcing them send a report to the Commissioner of Public Safety as to the date, time, duration and location of a gun show. Currently, Connecticut law requires the promoter to provide this information to the Chief of Police of the town in which the gun show will take place.
SB 1094 Danger! This bill would make it illegal to own a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds. If this bill becomes law, you as an otherwise law-abiding citizen would have 90 days from the date of enactment of this bill into law to turn in any magazine holding more than 10 rounds or be guilty of a Class D Felony! That’s right: you would be a convicted felon for attempting to exercise a constitutional right! Forgot you have a 11, 12, 20, 30, 75 round magazine in the house that you bought years ago? All it would take is for someone to discover it and off to jail you go and you now have a felony on your record.

Support the items below
Senate Bill No. 547 would amend the statute to provide that the requirements for the sale, delivery or transfer of a pistol or revolver shall not apply to a person who is licensed as a firearms collector. This bill would also revise the statute’s definition of “assault weapon” by removing “selective fire” from the wording.

Support the items below
SB No. 552 would grant retired law enforcement officers the ability to apply for allowance to conceal carry a firearm from the Department of Public Safety.
SB No. 554 would modify the pistol permit appeals process, setting time limits and requiring the permit issuer to supply the applicant with statement regarding the reasons for the refusal, revocation, or limitation of a permit.
HB No. 5263 would authorize the renewal of state permit to carry a pistol or revolver by mail.
House Bill No. 5270 would authorize the renewal of state permit to carry a pistol or revolver by mail or by electronic submission. House Bill No. 5643 would allow an out-of-state resident to carry a firearm in Connecticut as long as the person has a valid permit or license to carry a firearm issued by any state obtaining the same standards required by Connecticut statutes.
SB 966 would seek to extend the permit to sell pistols or revolvers to allow sales of pistols or revolvers at meetings or exhibitions of an organized collectors’ group or at gun shows
SB967 would seek to create uniform criteria for the issuance of a temporary state permit to carry a pistol or revolver
HB6376 would eliminate a requirement that vendors of pistols and revolvers keep a record of each sale of a pistol or revolver
HB6377 would eliminate municipal regulation of firearms and help create uniform laws throughout Connecticut
