Reloading, Gunsmithing, and Ammo

Anyway, ever since I had my 1858 Remington, I noticed one thing about it, that the barrel has always been torqued to the right a few thousandths too much, to the point of it compromising the trueness of the front sight (shoots to the right a hair), not to mention that it shoots way too high at 50ft or so (not even on a 1'x1' paper square). In the meantime, I've been trying to get the front sight out...

Broke the top half of the blade off, so I screwed myself a bit there. Anyway, I really don't want to try boring it out. Does anyone know how these come out? I don't know if they're press fit, soldered, etc or not.

Also, how would I back the barrel in to true (I believe these might be left hand threads, judging from the threads seen extending from the frame, near the cylinder).

Thanks for the help in advance,
-Andrew
