Saiga 20 failure to eject

Recently, I took Saiga 20 to the range and I was using bird shot from Walmart. It shot the round properly but failed to eject every round. Before taking it to the range, I cleaned it thoroughly, check if anything is blocking but couldn't make it work. Does anyone else has this problem? Is it just a lemon or common problem? Any suggestions to fix it?

Thanks is advance

Sorry, not familiar with the Saiga, but maybe you had light target loads. I know my brother loaded some reduced loads in his Benelli (or is it a Beretta?) and they weren't up to snuff to cycle reliably.

This.

Sounds like they were to light to cycle the action.

I used Winchester high velocity steel shots with 1325 fps and it didn't make any difference either

I used Winchester steel shot with 1325 fps and this is what happened. It doesn't matter if I set gas port setting on 1 or 2

Yes. It doesn't discriminate between the two

Possibly a bad ejector/spring?

Check the extractor, if it binds or has a burr it will interfere with ejection because it does not release when it is supposed too.

I cleaned Extractor before usage but as some of the forums say in which one suggested by Jeff on saig12 , I've not polished the extractor.

I'm just hoping on this one. I'm thinking of using slugs but not sure if I can use rifled slugs in the smooth bore.

Should be fine using rifled slugs in there.
