If you had the .357 version (I had a 971), you'd likely be shooting 38 Specials 90% of the time, too.

I thought I pasted a link on the forum about some company selling 125gr (JHP) for about $11 per 100...? Can't put my finger on it now.

I wanted the 357 version of the gun but the guy wouldn't wheel and deal anymore then the 38 special version at the shop. But i figured I never owned a revolver other then a Nagant revolver which i hated and got rid of. My brother inlaw got himself a Nagant revolver and abunch of boxer primed brass but i guess it a bear to reload it.

PM me when you're up there that weekend, I'll be up there too to pick up some stuff.

Montana Gold has pretty good prices on a variety of bullets and when Midway as a sale on Remington 38 cal bullets it's also a great deal.

Start up cost on new caliber to reload is kinda tough at the start. I thought about reloading on my progressive press but when i added the price of the turret and the shellplate and the fact i need the small primer feeder would run me 50 bucks before i even bought a 38 die set. Think i am going to reload on my single stage untill i feel like ponying up the cash to do it on my progressive

That's a fine caliber to reload since your factory options are rather limited and pricey.

I don't shoot 38 in any kind of contest.
Wow
That's excellent
Now I have to start reloading like some of you gvuys do

If you really want to go overboard, start casting, too. There's a slew of .38 caliber molds floating around out there. It's great to be able to roll your own, but casting (and sizing/lubing) does get to be a bit tedious, especially when you can simply buy cast bullets in bulk for reasonable still (key word: still!).
