It must be a muzzle brake that gets pinned.

My M&P 15 took a wrong turn at Albuquerque and turned into a .22LR rifle:



Hayes1966 and I rebuilt the upper with a CMMG 1:16 M4 Profile .22LR Barrel, CMMG Stainless .22 Bolt and a free float quad rail. I am waiting on a Hogue Overmold Pistol Grip.
