I picked this up off a friend for $200
The finish was beat, the barrel was floating all over the place, the bushing was worn out, and some knot head hand drilled 10 holes in the dust cover for mounting some piece of crap scope mount.

$170 bucks for a Brown match barrel and bushing.
$35 on an extended beavertail safety.
Serrated bobbed hamer (I had kicking around).
16lb variable rate (I have lots and lots of springs).
Staked on a new plunger tube.
Tightened slide to fram fit vertical and horizontal.
Tig welded the holes.
Stoned the frame down.
Rust blued frame and all parts.
Niter Blued grip screws and pins.

Here are the pics:

I am a design engineer by "trade". And I've been doing this stuff for a long, long time. I do Aluminum Type II anodizing, fume bluing, rust bluing, niter bluing, (color case hardening if I have to). Glass and pillar bedding, ruger MK 1,2 & 3 trigger jobs, and 1911 work. For a living? No.. For friends for a buck or barter.. Yeah.
