I'm not sure this qualifies as a great deal, but CDNN has Glock factory mags on sale this weekend for $22.99 with $5 shipping. Internet only, order by Monday noon. http://www.cdnninvestments.com/

I have seen this effect countless times on the skeet field, especially with .410 reloads- the plastic hull weakens over time and can separate from the brass. They're called "whistlers" and are inadvertent, of course. No harm seems to be done, although it's always a good idea to check to be...

Both Remington hulls can be reloaded with STS data- the black hull is a Game Load and sometimes (but not always) comes with a 6 point crimp, so you need to separate those out and change your crimp starter. The Sport Load is just a relabeled Gun Club. They both have steel bases and should reload fine...

My entire reason for trap shooting is to improve my shotgun skills for waterfowl hunting. Because of this I'm loading my trap loads to 1300 fps to stay near or closer to the speeds of my waterfowl loads. In my mind I think if I use shells of the same speeds it will help me hold or judge the correct...

Hey Mike- Assuming your using Win AA hulls (wild guess there) and Win 209 primers, that recipe gives you 1300 fps, which I think is a little fast for 16 yard trap targets. That extra speed translates to extra recoil which imho is unnecessary. Green Dot is normally thought of as a handicap distance p...

If the buyer and seller (both private non-FFL individuals) are not residents of the same state, the law requires that the transfer of any firearm go through an FFL. It doesn't matter if the transaction is done in person and face-to-face. What matters is the residency of the individuals. A gunshop ha...

If you're shooting at Wolcott or Bristol and you'd like to try one, let me know. I can get up that way with a little notice. I wouldn't recommend the BT100 with its release trigger, but the other 3 are either pull triggers or can be easily converted. Come to think of it, Wolcott used to have loaners...

I am interested to know what shotgun any of you use and what you think might be a good entry level shotgun for future purchase. I've been shooting trap for a while (not well, just for a while) and I've managed to accumulate a Remington 11-87 Trap, a Beretta 390 Trap, a Browning XT , and a Browning ...

If you're dropping the trigger housing out of the receiver, the only thing you need to be careful about is the hold open lever. spring, and pin (should be part #s 13, 14, 15 on your exploded diagram in your owner's manual, unless they've changed it). It's on the upper front left corner of the housin...

I don't have a clue about your particular rifle, but I think you're on the right track- I just found references to a gunsmith named Paul Haberly of the Chicago Gun Center. Here's one: "Many years ago I worked for a Gentleman named Paul Haberly in Chicago, Illinois. I was a dumb kid and Paul ope...

RimfireCentral.com has a section of the forum specifically for the Remington 597: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=902313502de5d970a9ab8ee55079dd73&f=218 Do a search there- I'm sure the swivel stud issue has been discussed. It's worth looking at in any case, lots of good i...

I guess I'll be the contrarian. I have the 597 (2, actually, I like them that much), a 10-22, and I had a 795. And that is the way I would rank them. The 795 was, IMO, kind of cheap and flimsy feeling. When the 597 first came out it had mag issues which were eventually resolved with the 3rd generati...
