Am I a moron or is Whitehouse.gov a piece of crap website? It won't recognize my password, so I reset it to a new one and immediately it won't recognize that one. Maybe we should start a petition to address that problem next.

Anyone actually see the list of guns by name? I can't find it anywhere. Probably doesn't even exist yet. They're still googling evil guns.

Any other ideas?

We need to make kids safer at school, right? that's #1 on the political agenda right now we're being told. Anyone hearing anything other than gun control being suggested? Surely one of those incredible minds in Washington has something to offer that may actually make schools safer. Fences, pit bulls...

Your friends unarmed?

If you guys are like me you probably hear fairly often "When SHTF I'm coming to your house!" Every time I try to explain that you can buy a suitable home defense shotgun for $200. It boggles my mind how someone's last resort plan is to hope a friend is willing to just hand over a firearm t...

Another 'expert' the media found. There are no special rules governing an AR in a private sale vs any other long guns...even if you can find the ones 'with the shoulder thing that goes up.' She will be helping decide the fate of your liberties: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ospNRk2uM3U This one is...

AR "black market"

An AR-15 is just like any other long gun, right? They can be bought and sold without reporting the sale? I heard a guy dispensing expert gun knowledge this afternoon and he was saying that AR second-hand sales are tracked like pistols. I'm having trouble proving it wrong and making myself nervous. S...

Buy 'em. If they want to take them away they'll have to buy them from you at fair market value.

Bump. I've been a member since the CCDL was a very young organization. It's completely free and most of all, hassle free. They haven't shared my info and don't beg for money weekly like the NRA. You'll get one monthly email with relevant information and an occasional second one if something of note ...

I've been entertained reading a lot of your posts about SHTF scenarios, and just like everyone else I've got my theories, supplies, and plans. The one topic no one ever mentions and I think about a lot is when it's time to start implementing said plans. I'm betting you wont be woken up by the sunlig...

You drive around regularly with a shotgun and ammo in your car? Not that it's illegal or a bad weapon choice, but make sure you have your hunting license and a prepared back story for it. I've found that most cops are fairly ignorant of gun laws and may cuff you for that if you can't give an "a...

I wish you all luck with your escapes. In a true apocalyptic-ish crisis though I'm betting any and all fuel gets expensive real fast. Real expensive. And any gas stations that actually have any will be absolute blood baths. I hope you can make your destination on the gas you have available right thi...

That is absurd. I occasionally work in the Stamford/Norwalk area and I'm aware how absurd things are down there sometimes. But seriously, that is absurd. $45/hr?! Is that the member price and it's even higher for the public? Honestly I hope he fails terribly. Even in an area like that, that's just r...

Nepaug State forest is full of trails and there's always trucks in there. I'm not sure why an exception is made there but it appears to be legal. Search for it on some 4x4 forums. I think there are even trail maps out there.

Thanks jtf, good find. I assumed there was some kind legal recognition of gift buying of firearms. It must happen on some kind of regular basis.

How did the carry permit come to be?

I suppose this would be a question for our more "senior" members. Traditional Google searching is not turning up anything that seems reliable. When did CT start issuing carry permits and what were the requirements then? What was the legality of carrying before that? Remember the events or ...
