Local Gunsmiths?

Anyone know of a reliable and skilled gunsmith in the East Windsor / Enfield / Suffield / Windsor / Windsor Locks area?

I'd rather not just pick one randomly.

Thanks!

Under the "Buddy" system, you don't have to outrun the bear, mountain lion, or cougar. You just have to outrun your buddy.

Ruger sent the new SR22p and I took it to the range today. Without all of the details, it functioned perfectly with 2 different "bulk" ammunitions and with CCI Mini Mags. I fired ~200 rounds through it, with one dud that wouldn't fire in two other pistols. I find that acceptable, so I sent...

I bought a pistol from John Kelly at Hoffman's, in March. He was very patient and answered multiple questions from my wife and me. Other than that experience, I'm not a big fan of Hoffman's.

Let's drop back and remember it was an uninformed administrative type that gave the kid grief. The guy in charge rectified the problem.

We, as gun owners, shouldn't over-react, or we give the anti-gun people more material to complain about.

Just got an answer from Mr. Cramer at Ruger. (This guy is a great rep for Ruger) He has offered to send me a new SR22p via a local gunstore, with a couple of extra magazines. My obligation would be to notify him if/when the new pistol functions as it should, and to return the "old" pistol ...

I went to the range with the SR22p, loaded it with Federal Champion bulk, and started firing. After 5 rounds, a FTE. Racked the slide, fired, FTE. Repeated five times. Here's my e-mail to Joe Cramer at Ruger, to explain everything else: Dear Mr. Cramer: As you suggested in your e-mail, I contacted o...

I received my SR22p back from Ruger yesterday afternoon, as promised. At least they met the promised two-week turnaround. 8O The paperwork said, in short, that two of their technicians could not duplicate the problems. They both fired multiple rounds of Federal Game Shok ammo, and the pistol functio...

I sent Ruger an e-mail last Friday (11th) describing my experiences with Federal bulk ammo, etc. I received a reply this morning, requesting that I contact customer service to return the SR22p. I called them shortly thereafter, and already received the prepaid return shipping label. The pistol will ...

Any other bulk ammo work better than the Federal? I've ordered some CCI Blazer, but open to suggestions.

BTW, Palmetto State Armory has the CCI Blazer, 525-pack, for $15.99 and free shipping. The free shipping deal is good until Monday, on everything they sell.

Update on my previous posts: I finally bought some CCI Stingers, Velocitors, Mini Mags, and Federal Game Shok ammunition. I tried the Velocitors first, as they are kind of in the middle as far as velocity, at 1435 fps. I fired two magazines (20 rounds) with no problems. Then I fired 20 rounds of the...

I forget his name, but some Japanese high-ranking military official said, during WWII, that he dreaded the thought of invading the USA. He noted that "there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass".

Trained or not, who would want to face so many armed enemies?
