You're not crazy, some guns are very over priced. There's a few brands out there that cost double what something very comparable goes for. I'm surprised anyone buys them. If you can decently recognize quality machining and design it's not terribly hard to pick out the over priced guns versus better ...

Nikon scopes

I'm looking to get some opinions on Nikons. I'm in the market for decent low cost variable scope in 3-9x. I can't determine the difference between the prostaff and the buckmaster. Anyone have any experience with these two?

paracord

Where are you buying 550 paracord locally? In large quantities, not the 20' pieces craft stores carry. The website I always got it from has new shipping prices I'm trying to avoid.

Nostradamus like prediction...Bass Pro never opens in Bridgeport. You heard it here first.

Thomaston F&G has open to the public trap matches on Sundays at 10. Haven't been in a long time but I'd guess it still happens.

I assume you're talking deer? I'm too active a person to sit very long. I spend the first few hours in a ladder then still hunt my way out. I've never taken anything from the ground though. I find it kind of ridiculous to be honest. a deer can see, hear, and smell a hundred times better than us. To ...

Anyone register a gun yet?

The form has a place for a thumbprint. It doesn't mention anything about it needing to be done by a police dept, etc. DIY fingerprints being accepted? Curious how that is going to go?

There's a ton of good stores around but none better selection wise. Forgive me, but I won't be buying there again after the dirtbag moves he was pulling in the weeks leading up to the "gun control" bill being raped upon us. If you want to shop and fondle multiple similar guns then definite...

I've noticed that happens there a lot too. I assume one guy in the group actually has a permit and the rest are just there for the excitement of being around guns.
On another note, I can't believe anyone is still going there.

Can a non permit holder currently buy long guns?

I think I understand this but someone please correct me if not. Can someone with no permit of any kind still buy a long gun in a store after the 14 day waiting period as of today?

Read this article and replace any reference to pit bulls with assault weapons. It'll read like a wet dream.

I use a Cabela's deep cycle. Works great. They sell for right about $100. Buy it from a place that sells lots of them (Cabela's) to insure you don't get one that's been on a shelf for 2 years. Get a charger that is designed to charge deep cycles too. Regular ones will shorten life of the battery.

Mossberg doesn't advertise compatibility between them but it is general believed that 500/535/590/830/835 barrels all interchange safely.

~4 inch groups at 100 yards, more than enough accuracy for any range I'll actually be seeing a deer at.
I've got one of these barrels for a 500 if anyone is interested.
