If you are 100 % sure you will be denied why apply in the first place?
By statute any felony disqualifies you, as well as 11 types of misdemeanors.
You would be foolish to apply if you fall into one of these categories.

You will prob have to remove front sight/gas block, and tube. Measure the tapered pins holding the gas block to determine the correct direction to drive out the pin. Note: Stag was reverse direction from all others I have removed.
