It's COLD out!

It's 38 degrees F. here in Litchfield County!

That's a lot colder than I am used to. The house feels cold inside at 70F and the heat came on the living room.

Brrrrrrr.

Autumn is so so I heard. An old timer who had been buying some stuff there told me he walked in with a custom 375 by the late Floyd Butler of Poultney, VT who was one of the finest smiths. The rifle was on Autumn's counter and the little guy came out. He pushed the Sako custom away on his counter an...

We eat regularly in both the East Side and the Dakota restaurants.

The food is excellent in both. The East Side has Walter playing the accordion and it's more fun there with the cheers!

The Dakota is also very good with that salad bar.

Custom rifle new to me.

I got a rifle this week with a fine walnut stock. That's what I like these days. :) It's on a FN mauser action with a 24" barrel in 7mm RM. What's different is that it's twist is 1-12". It won't shoot 140 Sierra Pro Hunters (flat base), 175 gr factory nor 140 X's. The X's keyhole. What's s...

Trigger pulled and gun pointed at me in gunshop.

Today in the Sportsmans Outpost in Wolcott, CT someone behind the counter pointed a Stevens Favorite rifle at me and pulled the trigger! He was a short man with a grey mustache. When I told him he had pulled the trigger with the rifle aimed at me he denied it and said it was aiming at the ground. Wh...
